History

The Hedge Fund Journal was formed in 2004 by Publisher Rod Sparks, and is based in Mayfair, London, UK. It is currently edited by Bill McIntosh.

Features

Each issue features a digest of the month's major news stories from around the world, two feature articles (typically profiles of notable individuals or firms within the industry) and a mixture of original and contributed research, opinion and legal pieces, as well as strategy commentary provided by hedge fund managers.

One of the publication's most notable features is its annual research table ranking the top 50 European hedge fund managers, the Europe 50. Firms are ranked by assets under management at the time of publication. The journal has also produced similar reports for Asia and the US.

Awards

Since 2006, The Hedge Fund Journal has hosted an annual awards ceremony, to recognise the leading service providers to the European hedge fund industry. All three events to date have been held at the Natural History Museum, London.

In 2008, the publication hosted its first awards ceremony in the US, situated at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.
